Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis (TB) is still a public health concern.  Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services goal is to eradicate TB.  TB is a disease that can be spread when someone with active TB coughs, talks or sneezes and people close by breath in the TB bacteria.  Medication is provided free of charge to those with active TB or those who have TB infection.  Blood tests to monitor liver function while taking the medication are done through the clients' private physician.  TB skin testing is done on those at high risk for TB Monday - Wednesday and Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM.  No appointment is necessary.  All donations are appreciated.

Possible symptoms may include:

Chronic Cough

Unexplained Weight Loss

Night Sweats

Chills

Fever

Coughing up Blood
