Child Care Health Consultation
Healthy Child Care Missouri is a collaborative project between the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Local Health Agencies throughout Missouri to provide child care health consultation services to child care providers. It is supported in part by a special child care grant from the U.S. Department for Health and Human Services, Child Care Bureau, and Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
Of the 114 counties in Missouri, 110 including Texas County are currently covered by this child care health consultation program.
Why does the program exist?
- To provide Child Care Health Consultation for Child Care Providers statewide.
- To promote safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate environments for all children in child care.
- To assist families and child care providers in accessing needed health and social service programs.
- To decrease risk of injury, disease and abuse for our children.

What services are provided?
- Consultation - On-site health and safety consultation.
- Training for child care providers.
- Education and consultation for family members of children in child care.
- Health Promotion presentations for children in child care settings.

What does it cost?
There is no cost to providers or parents for these services. Local Health agencies provide Child Care Health Consultation services through a contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Bueau of Child Care.
