Eligibility Guidelines
Eligibility guidelines: Low to moderate income 185% of federal poverty level guidelines or Medicaid eligibility. There are no fees or payments for this service.
Program requirements: Certification to WIC requires check of height & weight, diet assessment, finger stick for testing of hemoglobin level. This is done at no cost to you and by appointment only.

The Texas County Health Department has announced that a contract to continue to provide WIC services for federal fiscal year 2007 has been signed with the Missouri Deparment of Health and Senior Services. Under the terms of the contract, the Texas County Health Dept. will be able to serve 771 persons eligible for WIC every month. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an infant or child under the age of 5 and meet the income guidelines listed above, you may qualify for the WIC Program. The WIC program issues food instruments you can redeem locally for nutritious foods. Please call the Texas County Health Dept. for the WIC program at (417) 967-4269 to make an appoiontment.
